i enjoy miley cyrus’ music. granted im not a fan of hers, but im a fan of her music.
i love to belt “the climb”

i love britney spears and lady gaga. i don’t like taylor swift-she sucks live.

on sept. 10th, i was watching “extra” and found out that katherine heigl and husband, josh kelly had adopted a korean girl w/ special needs. i was sooo excited when i heard this news!! i immediately wanted to hug her. i want to be katherine heigl’s friend.

first “official” dinner

[fyi: i kept forgetting that i had drafts. i wanted to edit them, but screw it. here they are] hahaha

this past sunday (aug 16) was the first “official” dinner with my parents and jin woo’s dad and eemo. one time, my whole family and jin woo’s whole family all met at my house right after jin woo’s graduation. but we just had tea and some snacks because it was late at night. it was an unplanned event but nonetheless, it was God’s hand in the amazing story of jin woo and bomie (hopefully our story will be shared sometime later).

this time, it was a planned dinner. it’s difficult to meet up because both families are always working and living in different states, but jin woo’s dad and eemo (mom’s best friend) were coming to boston to check out the south end market. so, my daddy, my mommy, jin woo’s dad, jin woo’s eemo, jin woo and i had dinner at yasu. it was wonderful and weird at the same time. it was weird because they kept talking about us while getting to know one another. yet it was wonderful because jin woo and i just got to listen to them talk and share. they were sharing about their past, their childhood, their background then talked about us and our future. it was one of “those” dinners. korean-style. the dinner where the parents get to know one another. so crazy. so good.

One conference-recap

This past wk, I served on the praise team at a joint yg conference called “The One”. The conference was hosted by Boston Onnuri and was held at Eastern Nazarene College. Onnuri ygs from Korea, Canada, Maryland, California, Illinois, New York and other local churches joined us at this youth conference.

For this conference, we had many people interceding for our children and we spent much of our prep time in prayer. And given the new settings, it was expected that the kids would shy on the first night. But God was ready to stir these hearts from day one. The Holy Spirit was moving in the hearts of these kids and many were jumping with us during praise and crying out to the Lord. It was sooo beautiful to witness while on stage.

Some blessings to share::
~At this retreat, God used one of the pastors (Pastor Shin Kim) to heal many of the children-physically. For example, one child who was suffering from scoliosis was healed. He had tears pouring down his face from shock and just gratitude. Afterwards, he ran out to play soccer w/ his friends – an activity that had been difficult for him to.

~One of the praise band members who struggled with back problems was healed from his pain.

~Many of the kids were given visions by God. One 12 yr old boy was given a vision to become a missionary after college. He hadn’t even entered high school yet! But God revealed His purpose to this young child.

~Some kids received the gift of tongues.

Personal blessings::
While serving on the praise team, there was something holding onto my heart. I had no idea what it was. But through a lot of wrestling w/ God, He revealed that it was my brother. I had a lot of anxiety, anger and stress directed at my baby brother. I just couldn’t let go of him and my desire to change him. But while observing the kids, God changed MY heart by saying that He loves my brother and has not forgotten him and I need to simply worship Him. In the midst of my anxieties, God desires my worship. As difficult as it can be, the more I seek Him and the more I choose to put Him above all else, the more He frees me. Once God freed me of that … oh man. “Happy” isn’t the right word. Overjoyed??

the problem isn’t that we’re passionate about the “bad things” but the problem is that we are NOT passionate enough about God.

at soccer nights and at arise, i was able to serve, observe and interact with many children. in every moment, i was filled with sooo much joy! but imagine how much MORE He delights in His children.
