first “official” dinner
[fyi: i kept forgetting that i had drafts. i wanted to edit them, but screw it. here they are] hahaha
this past sunday (aug 16) was the first “official” dinner with my parents and jin woo’s dad and eemo. one time, my whole family and jin woo’s whole family all met at my house right after jin woo’s graduation. but we just had tea and some snacks because it was late at night. it was an unplanned event but nonetheless, it was God’s hand in the amazing story of jin woo and bomie (hopefully our story will be shared sometime later).
this time, it was a planned dinner. it’s difficult to meet up because both families are always working and living in different states, but jin woo’s dad and eemo (mom’s best friend) were coming to boston to check out the south end market. so, my daddy, my mommy, jin woo’s dad, jin woo’s eemo, jin woo and i had dinner at yasu. it was wonderful and weird at the same time. it was weird because they kept talking about us while getting to know one another. yet it was wonderful because jin woo and i just got to listen to them talk and share. they were sharing about their past, their childhood, their background then talked about us and our future. it was one of “those” dinners. korean-style. the dinner where the parents get to know one another. so crazy. so good.
